Another popular Hindu temple of Uttarakhand, Dhari Devi Temple is situated on the bank of Alakananda River, which comes between Srinagar and Rudraprayag. Hindu mythology believes that Dhari Devi is the only protector and guardian of the Chardham Yatra, so without visiting this temple, the spiritual journey of the devotees remains incomplete. The upper half of the idol is Dhari and the lower half is Kalimath Temple.

How to Reach Dhari Devi Temple?

  • By Road, devotees can reach the temple easily as it is well connected with all the major cities of Uttarakhand and situated 342 km. Distance from Delhi, 15 k.m. from Srinagar, and 20 k.m. from Rudraprayag.

  • By Train, devotees can reach this temple from the nearest railway station, Rishikesh railway station.

  • By Air, Jolly Grant Airport is the best option for the devotees. It is located around 120 km. Distance from the temple.

Best Time to Visit Dhari Devi Temple

It is suggested to visit the temple during the summer season (April to November), temperature will remain between 20°C to 36°C, although the temple is open throughout the year. It is also suggested not to visit the temple during Monsoon and Winter season to avoid the natural disasters in mountain areas. Please take note, that you can experience the raw culture of Garhwal if you visit the temple during Navratri and other festivals.

  • Morning Darshan Timing: 6:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

  • Evening Darshan Timing: 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Gaurikund: It is located 89 k.m. away from the temple and gives a spiritual vibe to the devotees through a holy dip in the hot water pool of Gauri Mata temple.


Guptkashi: This place is mythologically very popular as it is believed that here Lord Ganesha broke his tusks while Lord Shiva and Mata Parvati used to live in the mountains. It is situated only 62 km. Away from the temple.
